RAINS!! a mushy feeling that creeps into you, makes you so lazy that you want to stay in bed the whole morning listening to Eddie Rabbitt, ‘I love a rainy night’ or my current favorite Imagine Dragons,’I Bet my life’ while Having a Cuppa Chai (yes, I know Green Tea is in vogue and its more healthy and sensible, but I still vouch for that good old strong chai ) or watching the alluring Audrey Hepburn’s movie, 'Breakfast at Tiffany’s' or simply wanting to read that book kept by your night stand which you so conveniently ignored for a long time. Rains, its dreamy, lazy and romantic, ironically when it comes to clothes , it’s just the other way around!! No mushy feelings, No cutesy, No romance, our best friend is the dryer, the fan and the iron!!.

I’m a romantic buff, I fall for any movies that romance and glamorize rain, Why not?? The heroine squeezing her wet drenched hair, her eye liner running down her face, (unfortunately she didn’t invest in the water proof smudge free one! ) I had both the disasters take place but NOT Romantic!! Except me cursing the innocent raindrops and thinking out loud,’’ Seriously , couldn’t you find a better time to pour down on me, I have a meeting with a potential Buyer’!!I’m in awe of heroines in Movie Land ,after having every monsoon malfunction, they still look astonishingly stunning, love struck, clothes getting drenched , hair falling perfectly just the way you want it ,’The Pretty Sexy You’ , but seriously, reality bites, how many of us looks so sexy when challenged by those mighty drops?? and how many of us really want our clothes to get wet ?? Hey, I collected a month's salary to pay for my gorgeous Shift dress, no way am I getting rains drops on my dress, no matter how sexy!!

Well, out comes the flip flops, the wellingtons and rain shoes with either bows, flowers and fruits. Alright, some flowers do look cute but I don’t want Banana’s popping out of my feet!! and something we always dread during the rains, Monsoon Weddings!!! My beautiful embellished chiffon dress with my jewel encrusted baguette and my sleek Pumps, which I know would definitely be the awe of so many eyes, how am I suppose to pull of my gorgeous ensemble with my hideous rain shoes ?? that’s fashion faux pas to the deliberate . Well, I’m still waiting for beautiful waterproof pumps!!..

We all know the rules of monsoon dressing, don’t wear your Whites, Hatch those Cottons. No Long trousers or sexy curve cut denims. No long layered skirt and the list goes on and on. I go through my stack of clothes marked ,’ AFTER RAINS’, and I wonder, how the hell am I suppose to dress for the rains, Practical, shabby, unattended . I’m going through the same dilemma like most women especially when we are fashion fanatics..I think’ fanatic’ is too strong a word, let’s just say fashion conscious. I’m not going to wear Shorts outside cause my thighs are too bulky or my legs are bamboo skinny. Well, In the end what I think, come rain or sunshine, we love to dress and I know we woman will find our way through any season, times, and conditions. Monsoon Wedding , why not?, I’m still going to pull of my sexy ensemble , we have our ‘Rescuer’ our Handbags!! I’ll walk out with my hideous rain shoes while my sexy Pumps are tucked safely in my ‘Rescue Bag’ just waiting to slip them on for ‘THAT GRAND ENTRNACE!’

Studio TiCa’s tips to stay in mode this rains:

  • Avoid wearing light and pastel colored clothes since they tend to become transparent when wet and catch stains easily.

  • Wear dark colored cropped pantaloons, steer clear from corduroys and jeans as they soak dirty puddle and weighs you.

  • For a 'Feminine Go' opt for knee length skirts and

  • Store your leather bags since they tend to get foggy and breathe fungus when wet.

  • Stack your leather shoes, instead opt for those colourful ballerina flats, jelly shoes, floaters or even crocs.
